| Creating Hope for the Future |
 |

 |
When a family first contacts us: By the time a family contacts us, it is common for parents to feel exhausted, and both child and parents are angry, desperate, and hopeless. They may have tried other treatments and consulted experts on the issue of attachment problems with limited success. Though we are unable to help every family and child who comes to see us, we provide skilled, safe, and comprehensive services that produce positive results.
Work at ATS is a collaboration among parent, child, and staff. Together, we work to improve lives and help families look forward to a future of improved hope and promise. |

Client reflections "Attachment therapy reaches the core of the troubled child and brings a sense of hope where there once was hopelessness. Until our son received his therapy, there were many pieces missing for him. He is now able to give and receive genuine love. We are deeply thankful for Attachment and Trauma Specialists and for their dedication and genuine caring for hurting children." ~From the parents (one of whom is a professional colleague) of a 17-year-old youth adopted at several months
"Everything comes together at the ATS-- theory and practice, professionals and parents, home life and therapy -- to help the child. Working with the incredible staff at ATS has brought hope back into our lives and given our son a real chance at life. After years of unsuccessful therapy, we knew instantly this was the right place. Two years and lots of hard work later, our son is a different child -- more joyful, more loving, less troubled.",/i>

". . . I then walked out of there feeling like a whole different person. Like I had some love in me and that I could take some risk at letting my parents take care of me. I would look at them in the eyes. I would hug them back. I would feel more secure and at home than before. I would feel more connected." ~A 14-year-old adopted teen after coming to the Attachment and Trauma Specialists |

Evaluation and Outcomes As attachment-focused therapy becomes a subject of outcome research, the initial results are positive. At ATS we are also attempting to formalize a way to offer outcome information to community providers and potential clients. Currently, we have only our case studies and follow-up therapy information that gives us feedback about our clients' progress, and testimonies such as the ones above.
At Attachment and Trauma Specialists, we prefer to work closely with those currently providing services to our clients and with those providing out-of-town, follow-up care.
